Adkins Law · Huntersville & Lake Norman
Trial Attorney
Broad courtroom and counseling experience for legal problems affecting families, livelihoods, businesses, driving privileges, freedom, property, and long-term plans.

One attorney who sees how the pieces connect.
Christerfer R. “Chris” Purkey is a North Carolina trial attorney at Adkins Law. He represents individuals, families, employees, professionals, and businesses when legal and practical stakes intersect. His work includes family law, civil and employment litigation, criminal and DWI defense, traffic matters, probate administration, child-protective-services matters, and estate planning.
Chris has been licensed to practice in North Carolina since 2018. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Pfeiffer University and a Juris Doctor from Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law, where he served as president of the Federalist Society.
Before joining Adkins Law and helping establish Adkins & Purkey, PLLC, Chris operated his own practice and later managed a Lake Norman-area family-law office. That progression—from independent practice to law-office leadership—shaped a practical approach grounded in preparation, direct communication, and an understanding that legal decisions affect real families, careers, property, and businesses.
A family dispute may involve a closely held business or criminal allegation. A traffic charge can affect a driver’s license, insurance, and employment. An estate plan should reflect family structure, property, and decision-making needs. Chris looks for those connections early so the legal strategy addresses the whole problem rather than one isolated issue.
