Dominique Valentina Stokes is a trial attorney at Adkins Law, serving clients in Huntersville, throughout the Lake Norman region, and in surrounding North Carolina communities. She has been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 2021 and earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law.
Before joining Adkins Law, Dominique spent several years with the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office providing criminal defense to people facing serious and immediate legal consequences. Her work as an Assistant Public Defender demanded careful listening, efficient fact analysis, disciplined preparation, and the ability to explain difficult choices clearly—often under significant pressure.
Dominique has now practiced with Adkins Law for several years. Her work encompasses family law, criminal defense, and estate planning. That breadth allows her to recognize how one legal problem may affect another—such as when a family dispute intersects with a criminal allegation, or when a major life transition creates an immediate need to update estate-planning documents.
